Influential Collaborations
Quality of Life Associates started representing Oshadhi pure, therapeutic-grade essential oils, sourced directly from growers all over the world. Founded in 1990 by Dr. Malte Hozzel, German-born author, educator, and pioneer in holistic aromatherapy, Carol was the first and the top performing, national representative for over 10 years. In the pre-digital era, Carol operated as a virtual manufacturer, crafting clay diffusers and coordinated the designing, selling, and fulfilling of her unique designs through trusted production partners, and distributing through national catalogs, all as a sole proprietor. Carol provided presentations at national conferences, and published aromatherapy educational programs and course booklets.
Early Years in Sales
Carol began her career selling word processors to attorneys (whose secretaries were using iconic Selectric™ typewriters), long before the PC became “PC.” Intuiting where the market was heading, her ability to listen, develop rapport, organize around business needs and develop referrals and relationships, were formed early and naturally.
Strategic Partnerships
Carol began an enduring friendship, mentorship, and collaboration with Ixchel Leigh in 1991. Ixchel is regarded as one of the pioneers of the authentic aromatherapy industry. Carol actively represented Vibrational Aromatherapy by Ixchel™ products and trainings. Carol was Education Director, coordinating national educational certification classes and retreats, editing and publishing several editions of Ixchel's manuals and published book, as well as recently securing rights to distribute products and teach classes for Vibrational Aromatherapy by Ixchel™. QLA will be reintroducing Ixchel’s Vibrational AromaTherapy ChakraSynergy™ blends for sale and offer Vibrational AromaTherapy certification classes.

Continually Practicing
During the 90's, Carol studied energetic modalities. She enrolled at the Polarity Realization Institute (now Spa Tech) and completed certification as both a Registered Polarity Practitioner (RPP) and a RYSE (Raise Your Subliminal Energy) Practitioner and Trainer. Carol completed training on Reiki I and II. She became a Level I and Level II Integrated Energy Therapy (EIT) Practitioner with Trainer Patricia Brown, completed the Guided Self-Healing first year training course with Dr. Andrew Hahn, and Chinese Energetic Medicine three level training with Dr. Kam Yuen. Carol continues today as an energy practitioner who incorporates the vibrational qualities of essential oils into her energy practice.
Speaking About What She Knows
Carol has been a featured workshop presenter and speaker at national conferences for Polarity and Aromatherapy. In her private holistic healing sessions and classes, Carol weaves her unique combinations of polarity, vibrational aromatherapy, Chinese energetic medicine, guided self-healing, and energy awareness into her classes and sessions and is a natural teacher and educator of complex subjects. She reads a room and an audience and is so tuned into her subject matter around healing and energy that she becomes both message and messenger in one persona.
The Practicality of Pivoting
In 2006, Carol pivoted her career into professional healthcare and senior living; starting as Director of Community Relations at Benchmark's Haverhill assisted living and moving to Community Services Director at Home Instead Senior Care in Andover. In 2008, she moved to the South Shore to become her mother's personal caregiver during her cancer and hospice journey. She returned to senior living positions in business development, marketing, and community relations; always applying her passion for wellness and energy. Care Alternatives Hospice (now Ascend) collaborated with a gifted blender to provide patients with authentic therapeutic quality blends for end of life. Carol made a difference in growing the census at Old Colony Hospice, the four years she was there. Each time she landed at a hospice, she aspired to bring AromaLotions to each agency for support to families and patients. She continues to nurture trusted relationships and valuable connections, as Director of Business Development for ComForCare Home Care. Carol is working part time now, so she has time to relaunch Quality of Life Associates and introduce LifeWave to the Greater Boston area.
